J.T. BELDIA - Architects is an architectural firm that does not limit itself to the basic description of what an architectural service firm does. We do our best to branch out to other fields that are involved in the process of planning and designing a structure. Through this, we are able to provide a more holistic service to our clients.

The very backbone of our service, we strive to provide only the most efficient and functional designs for any structure, be it high-rise, mid-rise, institutional, or residential.

What good is a building with a beautiful exterior, but a messy, poorly thought-out interior? We always make sure to take into account proper design for interior spaces when planning out any structure.

Long since the day the professions of architecture and engineering have been known to man, there’s been a little war brewing between the two. However, we believe that both architecture and engineering are equally important to produce a good quality structure. Thus, we keep our connections with our partner engineers and engineering firms very strong.

In the quest to create new ideas that will revolutionize architecture, we cannot work alone—we cannot just keep our knowledge to ourselves. It is in an exchange of ideas with others that we can gain new perspectives and give rise to innovative ideas.

Senior Architect/Founder

Architect Jose Thomas D. Beldia, FUAP is the President of J.T. BELDIA - Architects A Design Firm he started in 1978 and was incorporated in 1994 has been involved in various project sizes and categories such as mid to high rise office-residential buildings, commercial structures, school buildings, medical facilities, residential projects, restaurants and clubhouses, recreational and public utility facilities, factory and warehouses, and interior work contract designs.

Architect Beldia dedicated himself and his company to one guiding creed: “To continuously create new and environmentally sound ideas for architecture,” from which was formed his main principles in his work—that is, function in form, aesthetics in economy, and material excellence under any given limitation.

Architect Beldia's passion for new and innovative ideas is evident in his works. In 1991, he first introduced the concept of a condo-hotel in his 27-storey Makati Sunrise Hotel in Makati now known as Berjaya Hotel. All of his work also carries that consciousness on costs and energy savings without sacrificing comfort, as evident in his skillful utilization of shades and shadows over glass materials to reduce heat gain to almost zero.

More recently, he was able to design a system of pre-engineered, modular building frames for mid-rise buildings that are 5 to 20-storeys high. This design brought down the structural cost by as much as 30%. This design principle was first tested and applied in Belize I and II projects located in San Antonio Village Pasig City. The 2 ½ year ROI period of Belize became the basis of the low-cost 3-storey structures designed and built for Jaime Cardinal Sin Village in Punta Sta. Ana, Manila, and his 3 to 4-storey low-cost housing project, the GK-Pulis Kalinga Quartering Complex in camp Bagong Diwa. Domus Mariae, a five-storey low-cost condominium of Cardinal Rosales, likewise adopted the same building system, followed by J.Rosa Condominium, a five-storey residential condominium located in Teacher’s Village, Quezon City, and Residencia Isabel Condominium, located on East Capitol Drive, Brgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Careful human and vehicular traffic management and planning is also one of his major concerns, and is properly addressed in all his works. These are just some of the planning principles that gave him credence in handling a major mall and shopping center complex project named Changchun Megacity in Changchun City, Mainland China, and his design for a 33-storey building for Swiss-belhotel International Hotels and Resorts.

Truly, Architect Beldia's excellence in his work has not gone unrewarded over the years. Just 5 years after starting his firm, he was formally inducted into the College of Fellows of the United Architects of the Philippines in the year 1999, and has received much recognition for his works and services from the college. Much recently, he was officially registered as an ASEAN Architect on July 4, 2014. These achievements culminate as he is featured in the United Architects of the Philippines College of Fellows Book of Achievers, a compilation of the biographies and works of 80 significant members of the College of Fellows.
